Join us on July 21, 2021, for an exploration of the incredible variety of historical bridges that are located in the region.
This program explores the incredible variety of historical bridges that are found in the region. These include: stone arch bridges in Keeseville and Ticonderoga; covered bridges in Jay and Edinburg; iron trusses over the AuSable, Hudson, Saranac, Raquette, Moose and Sacandaga Rivers; reinforced concrete, stone-faced spans in Keene, Piercefield, and Black Brook; and the marvelous steel arch bridge over AuSable Chasm... As bridges are among our most endangered historical resources, the program also looks at successful strategies for preserving these regional treasures.
Guest Speaker: Historian, author, documentary filmmaker, former radio personality James R. “Jim” Jones has been tracking local steamboats, industry, recreation, entertainment and railroads from the Champlain Canal’s opening in 1823 to the present.
Discounted KEESEVILLE RAILROAD book and DVD for sale at the show.
